Many potty training guides out there ‘guarantee’ that your child will be potty trained in 3 days or less. My guide gives a more honest answer in that every child is different when it comes to potty training. Sure, some may learn in 3 days or less, but that is most certainly not the norm. Don’t fall for the trap and think your child will definitely be potty trained that quickly. This is a simple marketing tactic which tries to persuade the parent that any child can be potty trained in 3 days, when in reality it usually just brings false hope.

Regression is common amongst children who have begun potty training before they were ‘developmentally ready’, or who were rushed to learn quickly (usually brought on by the parent). It’s not worth rushing to get your child potty trained in a weekend, then risk having them regress and be worse off than when they began the potty training process.
